Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced its decision to present the 2020-2021 Shen Nong China A gricultural Science and Technology Award. “Establishment, Popularization and Application of Precision Rearing Technique for improving PSY based on Mother-Child Integration”, a project jointly undertaken by the Huazhong Agricultural University, China Agricultural University and Guangxi Yangxiang Co., Ltd., won the First Science and Technology Award. For Yangxiang, a co-developer, the award is a follow-up to the First Shen Nong China Agricultural Science and Technology Award it won in 2015.

The award-winning project, “Establishment, Popularization and Application of Precision Rearing Technique for improving PSY based on Mother-Child Integration”, undertaken in order to solve the problem of low swine production efficiency, reveals the key mechanism affecting PSY, creates a functional innovative product, develops a technical solution for precise sow feeding with “backfat control and flora regulation” at the core, and solves the industry-specific issue of high weak piggy rate, insufficient milk and low estrus rate of 7 days after weaning, significantly improving the production efficiency.
